Welcome

I am an Associate Professor and Acting Director at McMaster University School of Social Work in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. My work focuses mostly on child welfare, anti-oppressive practice, anti-racism and social exclusion, as well as service users’ theory.

I have built this site with the following audiences in mind:

Research participants: Those participating in the research I am undertaking can access informed consent forms, updates on how the research is progressing, and news about how the knowledge they have shared is informing social work policy and practice.

Community Organizations: Because my research and teaching has a practical focus I am hoping that the site will also interest agencies in the community.

Students: I have included access to resources and social work news that I hope will be useful to students and others. I also use this site to update news on class events when I am teaching.

Academics and Scholars: The site is primarily an academic homepage and it contains the usual information provided on scholar’s homepages such as teaching, research and publications etc.

To make the site easier to navigate and understand, most section begins with a description of the content in that section. Please feel free to explore and enjoy! Also feel free to give me feedback on the site.
